Essential: Post-graduate degree in Basic Science, or graduate/postgraduate professional degree, via CSIR-UGC NET/GATE or a national-level exam route (see standard note). Desirable/preferred (not a formal eligibility gate): Prior knowledge/experience in biosensor device development: microfabrication, microfluidics, electrochemical biosensors, synthesis/fabrication/characterization of nanomaterials. Tenure: 24 months or termination of project, whichever is earlier. Age limit 28 (relaxable per sponsor rules). Selected candidate may pursue a Ph.D. at IIT Kharagpur. Essential qualification follows the standard CSIR-UGC/GATE JRF norm: a postgraduate degree in Basic Science, or a graduate/postgraduate professional degree, obtained via (a) CSIR-UGC NET (incl. Assistant Professorship eligibility) or GATE, or (b) selection through a national-level exam run by a central government department/agency (DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER, etc.) — no specific discipline is mandated at the essential-qualification level; a preferred background is listed separately below.
